Does Google Plan on implementing exfat support?

It appears that sd cards attached to devices must be formatted in FAT32.

There is some software called "paragon" which will enable exfat access, but you are required to do an illegal rooting of the device, which is too much trouble for me.

I'd think that hopefully at least by 5.0 they'll build it into the OS.

Samsung phones already support exfat, at least the ones I've used do.

Google has imported a bunch of stuff from touchwiz over the years so it wouldn't be impossible to see it in stock android eventually.

There is a licensing issue though I think.
