Does gmail have a thread length limit?

This has happened to me twice in the last 3 days. I'm corresponding with the tech support at smugmug, a photo sharing site. The ninth message is from them and then I try to reply. I type in the message, hit Send, the screen refreshes and I'm back at my Inbox but my reply is not added to the thread, it's still at 9 total messages. I've tried to reply with my home computer and with my computer at work, neither will work.

Is limiting total messages in a thread a gmail thing? Or could it be a smugmug thing to limit customer interaction?

I have no clue about this, any help would be appreciated.

Not really sure why it's limiting you, but it shouldn't. Contact their CS.

I don't think it's a smugmug thing. You might check your thread settings to see how many messages per thread you can do.

I've never heard of gmail thread settings, I couldn't find anything like that in the gmail preferences and when I did a search for it at google mail help I came up with nothing either. Where do I access that?
