exactly. goto a retail store and the employee will do it for you. or you can do it over the phone with customer service

You can do it yourself by going to their website. I will never again go into their fvcking sh!tty store and wait for them to change it over. I waited 50 minutes last time, and I had to pee like a mother the entire time.

So what can I do now, since my sister said something about getting a new # with the phone?

did you purchase a new account? or did you tell them you had an existing account?

well, thats the reason you got a new phone number. in order to keep an existing number, you need to tell them so. see if you can return it or something and tell them what ur original intent was. maybe they can help you.

No, just call up and do an esn swap. The best way to avoid crappy customer service and to get to a technician that knows a little bit more what they're doing is to tell the automated system "Voicemail problem," and then choose "all other problems." Less chance you'll get someone in learning lab that can't tell someone how to program a handset if their life depended on it.

The Voicemail trick is good for billing questions too, because the techs have to take those calls and cannot transfer you back to CS.

Plus you will get through in a couple minutes as opposed to half an hour.

My phone is supposed to activated already, and is coming in the mail on Tuesday..so it's still possible right?

Talk to Sprint. Sounds to me like it'll end up being a big mess and the simplest thing would be for you to send that phone back to wherever your sis ordered it from. How long have you had your current phone? If its been 18 months you can sign a 2-year contract and get up to $150 off the price of any new handset. Otherwise you'll have to find other ways to get an equipment credit.

I wonder if it'll be a bigger mess to tell everyone of my new # or to go through the process..

You can't do this if you're keeping the same carrier.

Avoid the store at all costs. THe lines are ridiculous. I came back about an hour and a half ago. It was friggin 3pm on a weekday... I figure - little to no lines... I got in there and I was about the 9th person on line. Stood there for 15 minutes, not a single person moved, and only 3 people working the customer service desks. I just walked out... I'm so glad I'm ditching sprint this month after 2 long years.

Sending the phone back is your best bet. Then just buy a handset without service and call up CS.

I called them, and said it'd be a $150 termination fee to cancel the new phone I got, to disable that ESN, in order to get my old number onto this new phone =/

Is that about accurate?

No. You should have a 14 day grace period. It should start when you get the phone and start using it. If CS tries to tell you otherwise don't give in.
