Does G450 Matrox have problems with AMD??

Heard that Matrox used to have problems with AMD machines. Mine will be a ASUS A7V133 with a t-bird 850.... do I have anything to fear?

nope. All there drivers are 3D-now enhanced and everything. The drivers are really mature now, so u'll be getting the most outta ur G450 and AMD cpu.

The only problem with Matrox G40's is that they hate being overclocked(i.e. they cannot run at 89Mhz FSB).

I have a Matrox G450 that I'm using on my KT133 MoBo right now. The Matrox is rock stable! Better than any other card I used on this MoBo.

:frown:
I have not been able to run my Matrox 450 DDR with the CPU Host Clock (CPU/PCI) at a multiple of 1.10. (Mother Board- Epox 7KXA VIA Apollo KX133 PCI Chipset, BIOS-6.00) It will lock up about every 2Hrs. With my old graphics card, it was rock stable. My 770 Mhz slot A Athlon is now back to a 700Mhz. Bummer.

If anyone has a good reason as to why these cards don't like to run at a higher multiplier, please let me know.

--Thanks

I haven't had a problem with my G400 on my Abit KA7/Athlon 700 system.

Bayonet87- I'm not sure what you mean when you say:

<< CPU Host Clock (CPU/PCI) at a multiple of 1.10. >>

I've never seen CPU/PCI multipliers like that. Also, the G450 should be in your AGP slot, so there should be a CPU/AGP multiplier, afaik.

Matrox is a line of fantastic products with good support and no incompatability issues until, as you can see, some gameboy tries to get it to do something that it was not engineered to do.
Like nearly every other top of the line product on the market; if left alone it performs flawlessly.
