Does fruit get any better than fresh cut pineapple?

The pineapples at Sam's club are wonderful....I think I eat half of the thing when I'm cutting it up.

I can't think of a better fruit to have in the morning. Any other fruit along side it just tastes tart. Mmmmmm.....

Although fresh cut pineapple is very delicious, I might have to go with the fresh cut mango or papaya. Those three would be my favorite.

Can't say that I've had either of those fresh cut. The midwest isn't the best place for fresh tropical fruit 🙂

Are they a bit more...melon'y in flavor?

I can't say that. I don't eat melons. Flesh melons, yes. 🙂 Honey dew and cantaloupe, no. Yack!

There's a Japanese place near me that has the best after-meal pinapple ever...tastes fabulous after you eat some Cali rools and kani...

You know if you eat enought pineapple straight it will make your mouth bleed from all the acid.

That's why you soak it in some salt water 😉

Fresh ones rock....they just melt in your mouth and are so delicious. However, this was at a restaurant near Chenai, India. After that I have been hooked on mangoes, even though the ones in the US are more thick skinned (per FDA rules) and not nearly as good.

they are sooo good. grill them and put a mix ricotta cheese and whipped cream on top! its heavenly!

I'm partial to some of the exotic tropical fruits here. Hard to find fresh in US and even then very expensive.

The very first fruit on that page has this description:

Warning: Only the yellow pulp on ripe ackees is edible. Eating underripe ackees that haven't opened on their own, or eating the pink portion of ripe ackees, can cause vomiting and death.

AHHHH! :Q

What does the salt do?

Chemically, I don't know, but it makes it not hurt your mouth/tongue if you eat too much at once.

Bought 2 of them last week and am waiting for them to ripen a bit more before i cut them.

Pineapples don't rippen any further once they are picked. They aren't like other fruit/veggies that ripen off the vine. You have to be more selective when picking pineapples and get one that is ready to go from the store.

Why would you put whipped cream on anything? It tastes terrible! Cheese on pineapple? You're one of them parfait eating yuppies ain't you?

You can't be serious... I live in Chicago and I can get either of those (along with far more exotic things) at my local produce market. Heck, if you can't find mango at your local supermarket, then you must not know what a mango looks like.
