Time: Up 20-50%

Aggravation: Through the roof !!!

Safety: Increased

It's no big deal, I know what I prefer.

Not really, whens the last time someone brought a bomb on a plane in their luggage? Scanning the bags with a bomb scanner doesnt do much IMO.

haha. yeah, in Minneapolis each bag is swabbed for 'explosive residue'. So i waiting in line at the ticket counter for a good hour and 15 mins.

Getting through the line in Albany NY only took me 10 minutes. They don't open and check ALL the baggage, they just do an explosive residue check. If it suspects something then they check it. Otherwise you just go right through.

Did i say they open and check every bag? They swab every bag. outside first, if that fails, then inside.

This is at O'Hare, one of the busiest airports out there. They do a good job there.

Ya, Ohare is fast. I also set off the stupid detecter every time. never fails. Fainaly, a security guard at sanfransisco told me that there is a plate in the bottom of my work boots. ( I assume to keep nails from getting me in the foot ) And that was what was setting the stupid things off.

I still go off every time though. Weather it be from me being a moron and forgetting to take off my watch, to a single button on my pants going off.

Annoying, but I would rather be annoyed than blown up. I would gladly give up 30 minutes of my time per flight to be "wanded". Search me physicly and we got problems though.

so...you think that people with genital piercings have a hard time getting through the metal detector?

I'm glad to hear that O'Hare is good. I'm flying from LGA to O'Hare on the 17th and back on the 18th. Only carry on's and I think I don't have paper tickets so I will go through the e-ticket machine. Sounds like it won't be too bad for me.

I'm asking for someone with NO bags to check.
I'm flying for one day and have my laptop bag only. Before I could take the Boston to NY delta shuttle that I could arrive like 20 minutes beforehand and have plenty of time.
Has this changed?
do you have to get your boarding pass/ticket at the ticket counter before you go through security?
yeah, but i can (or could?) get it at automated booths with my E-ticket.

Hey, I take the Delta shuttle almost every other weekend from Washington DC to NY. I just have a carry on and my eticket, get there like 45 min before take off and you should be fine.
