Does firewire work with all MOBOs?

I have a pretty old Dell. Its a P4 1.8 gig. The MOBO can only support SDRAM 🙁 Also its still USB 1.0

want to add a firewire drive and USB 2.0. Can I just add it? will it work?

I just did that for a friend of mine today on his P4 1.6....he needed a USB 2.0, so I grabbed a card with that and Firewire, just in case he needed it....no sweat with the install!
