Does Firefox not work with the forums anymore?

Every time I try to load the forums, a message says
"You have chosen to open

from forums.anandtech.com
which is a: application/octet-stream"

And then it asks which program I should open it with or just save it to disk

Just me? I have to use IE now but all these random popups come up, yet adaware has ZERO spyware and the google toolbar is installed and there's no bad programs installed.

I hate IE so much

Fixed it with a cache cleaning, thanks!

I had to clear my cache and restart Mozilla several times before I could

I see the same thing, but only with my work computer - my home machine (also with FF) works fine. I'm not quite sure what the problem is yet.

Upgrade or install the plugin.

MYIE2 is a nice "version" of ie to check out.

I've noticed that occasionally Firefox/Mozilla will freak out and lose associations for certain files. The copy of Mozilla on my laptop just yesterday forgot what to do with non-embedded JPEGs. I had to tell it to open them using itself, which means they all open in a new window from the cache on the local disk. (Which is listed in the address bar) It's kind of annoying; I may have to reinstall to fix it.

During that horrible forum-enema the other day I got that a few times, it cleared up without me doing anything though. Posting using FireFox right now btw.

This from the guy who thinks he is being incredibly clever and tech savy by not installing any updates or service packs for XP...

Using Firefox right now... as others have mentioned clearing your cache should do the trick...

I have never once had any issues with my computer related to updates. Firefox would not have worked even if I had service pack 1,000,000
