Does film brand matter?

Is there a difference between say FujiFilm and Kodak? Does the brand effect the quality of the picture as much as the camera itself? I was thinking about buying some FujiFilm which is cheaper than Kodak.

what most affects the quality of the picture is the quality of the thing being pictured, then the lens. not sure where the evaluations of focus/metering/f-stops/film grade/etc fit together. but i can tell you that fuji is generally better for most stuff, except portraits, because it makes people appear more reddish. not sure how it does that but thats what happens because its developed for the japanese market where peeople want other people to appear more red.

Fuji and Kodak are fine. Any other company is just getting to where Fuji/Kodak were 3 yrs ago (except Illford..).

Fujifilm has better blues and greens whereas Kodak excels in yellows and reds....My sister worked for Kodak and she was aware of this fact as was Kodak. Yellows and reds are the hardest colours to reproduce. For B+W...Illford has been the film of choice for years.....I used to buy it in 250ft rolls and spool it myself onto 36shot rolls....ahh the good old days.
Store brand film is usually made by one of the bigger companies and repackaged to suit the brand...often it is fuji.
Walgreens does not own a film manufacturing plant.....😉

buy a roll each of Kodak &amp; Fuji &amp; shoot the same pics. Then decide which color bias you like best.

For average pictures that are not enlarged, there is little practical difference between the 2 brands, except for the color bias.
