I ordered my eMac on Monday, Apple sends me an email stating that it shipped. Estimated Delivery was 28th. I kept an eye on the tracking # and it didnt move... today I look and it finally left CA destined for AR with a new ETA of 5-29-04. That is Sat.. I know that FedEx Express dont deliver on Saturdays... Does Ground?

TIA

FYI, there are like 5 branches of FedEx (formerly RPS). There's Custom Critical, Ground, Express, Freight, the big Corporation, and they picked up a few other things too...Kinkos was one of them. Which method of FedEx were they using to ship your laptop?

It is if it's an overnight package. If it's a FedEx ground/home delivery, there is no extra fee. Plus, the ground/home deliveries happen up until 8:00 P.M. at night.

fedex ground and fedex home are not the same service, iirc

Service Info
FedEx Ground
FedEx Ground provides reliable, day-definite service, and is the best choice for your U.S. business shipments that don't require the speed of express shipping.
Service Description

Transit Times: 1-5 business days within the contiguous U.S.; 3-7 business days to/from Alaska and Hawaii.

Service Days: Monday-Friday

Not entirely true. FedEx home has a weight limit of 70Lbs. If you have a bigger package going to a residence, it can be sent via their Ground shipping.

If you look at the heirarchy at the FedEx web site, the Home service is listed under the Ground service.

Since the tracking # states estimated delivery date of 5-29, which is a saturday. I bet it would be safe to say that Fedex ground will deliver Sat.

EDIT:

I stand corrected.. it is HOME, not ground

never

Actually, this could have been happening around the Christmas season. They could have expanded their delivery schedule a bit. FedEx Home is a franchise. FedEx will assist you in getting set up by leasing a vehicle, etc. The estimated income from such an opportunity is approx. $55k.
