I've been using Nero for the longest time. Last time I used EZCD Creator was back in the 3.xx days when it was good. 4.xx sucked. I don't know much about 5.0. Just wondering if EZCD Creator still sucks. Thanks.

EZCD Creator is fine (5.0 Platinum with the latest patch that is). I use it for a few things and it works great. I also use Nero, CDRWIN, CloneCD, Fireburner, BlindWrite, Alcohol 120% and some others. :)

What does EZCD creator provide that Nero doesn't? I've been using Nero for so long now, I wonder if I have been missing out on any new features from other cd buring software.

it brings you complete entanglement with the OS along with meg 'o' bytes of useless bloatware. ...of course this is only my opinion...i think all cdr programs should have a 100mb hdd footprint... <- saracasm :)

As you can tell, EZCD left a bad tast in my mouth back in the 4.0 days when it BSOD'ed all the time. IMHO, there is nothing worth the headaches of EZCD that nero can't already do.

They both do about the same thing, but go about it differently. I like making bootable CD through EZCD Creator rather than Nero. It's just personal preference. I just like using everything. :)

The latest version of EZCD Creator works just fine (make sure you do not install "take two").

Most people that think EZCD Creator sucks are judging it by earlier versions.

Nero is also very fine software but honestly, My entire graphics department uses nothing but EZCD creator and when I set up NERO on their spare machine they were all confused and did not find it intuitive. Everything they burn with EZCD works just fine so I see no reason to try to convert them to NERO.

Again. I like and use NERO but there is nothing wrong with modern versions of EZCD Creator. It will work just fine for general burning. If your are copying CD's you would want to use completely different software anyway (clonecd, or similar).

That's easy - conversion of analog media to digital. Try and create WAV files and MP3s out of tapes, or records with Nero.

ECDC 5 with the latest patches does everything it is supposed to.

I don't know. I use Nero. Nero is WAY better than EZCD, was some poll here a couple weeks back. Like 95% of TA'ers preferred Nero (that should be on their webpage ;)).
