Does Elon Musk do enough as Trump's advisor?

Elon Musk was always the person with great ideas. In this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZm_NohNm6I he explains that the world would only need 100 gigafactories to completely replace fossil fuel with renewable energy.

However now that he's part of Trump's economic team, why hasn't he tried harder to push true such ideas? Trump is a basic dude who likes great projects so why hasn't Musk even proposed a big plan to make the US energy independent with those gigafactories. Instead Trump pushes for more fossils and sucks up to Saoudi Arabia. It seems Musk mainly joined that econic team to receive funding for his Space X program which he did.

Anybody else puzzled on why Musk hasn't done more? Again, since becoming part of Trump's econic team he hasn't laid out any great idea to shift to renewable despite the fact media loves to have him on their shows.

A person can be brilliant and or innovative, but it doesn't make them wise. He may have also concluded that pushing his vision on others isn't a fit for his abilities. Perhaps he did and Trump wasn't receptive. But you can always try to ask him. He may understand what motivates him better than I do or not.

Uhm.. that's what i meant. I asked if aside from global warming, people here are also concerned about air pollution as a result of fossils.

He can say he tried, but Trump wasn't listening. People were asking him 'Why are you even talking to Trump?!?!' and I think he said the only way to influence policy is to talk to the people in power. He may not be able to sway the guy alone but is hoping more people with similar goals speak up.

Making a commercial and airing it on the Golf Channel may be the best way into Trumps skull.

It's simple: Trump is bought and sold by fossil fuel lobbies, and those few advisors he really trusts just tell him what he already wants to hear. He's trying to prop up the coal industry even though it's irreversibly dying. What makes you think he'd listen to an intelligent, informed opinion and shift his focus to clean energy?

Elon has his own troubles with the UAW trying to muscle in on his plants which will ruin them.

Strictly speaking, that's not the case. All it means by definition is that state where there is no need to import anything to meet energy needs.

Of course, a wider definition encompasses the worrisome dependence on fossil fuels, even those that are domestically produced.

I believe Musk is trying to tread water very carefully.

If hs pushes trump too hard, it will backfire, and he knows it.
