Does driving in the middle of the night (1:30-3:00am) on pointless errands relax you?

anyone else do this?

I feel so good now....

i know how you feel. nothing like a nice night drive...perfect relaxation. i don't even go get a slurpee, i'd just drive aimlessly for a few hours, ending up lost, then switch on the gps to take me home :D very comforting feeling.....

ahhhh i wanna go driving

mmm, gps. :D

Yea, I do my best thinking driving at night with no one on the road. Sometimes it's cool to be taking a road trip, and leave at like 2am, so you can get in a good few hours of night driving. Of course, when I'm tired and having a hard time keeping my eyes open, it sucks.

Drove around around 2-3am in the morning on the streets of Vegas during my holidays. Most relaxing feeling ever. So care free. No destination. No time constraints, don't have to worry about being late for work. Don't have to worry about not getting enough sleep and forgetting to wake up for work next morning.

Shopping in Walmart at 4am does seem a bit odd though.

me and my SO used to do it a lot in college, actually. we went to college in the middle of nowhere, so we'd hop in a car and just drive around the backroads for a couple hours, fantasizing about blowing off school and spending the rest of our lives together as bums in Europe

I like to do this too, but alot of times instead of taking a drive i just take a walk or a run. Just a few weeks ago it was raining really hard outside and i went for a walk at like 2am, that was fun. I didnt walk too far but i walked in the side of the street where the water collected for a little while.

I guess when I do this it is to get an "out" from the real world. Doing something drastically different so as to not remind myself of my real situation. I guess it's to spend a moment, however brief it may be, in a dream world.

People go to vegas to live a temporary lifestyle where they can't in their day to day normal life.

Seems like as you grow older, between ages of 20-45, there comes with it your life more and more baggage and worries. As you grow you tend to think more. When we were kids, all we ever did was look forward to recess, lunch, going home to watch afternoon cartoons, and play for the rest of the day.

Oh yeah, I live in a mountain town, fresh air and stars, great to drive at night, no one else around. :)
