Does DELL discriminate against firearm dealers?????? Check this out:

LMAO. The guy sells GUNS and they're worried about him using the computer to do something illegal? If he wanted to do something illegal, he'd use the GUN, not the computer.

The problem with these people is they implement policies without thinking them through. In the wake of 9/11, the building where our company is located instituted a policy where everyone parking in the parking garage had to register their car with building management.
This sounded reasonable....except if someone was going to leave a truckload of explosives in the garage, do you really think they'd bother registering with building management beforehand?

The "policy" does NOTHING to slow down potential crime, but works plenty good in inconveniencing people on the up-and-up.

Dell needs to let law enforcement do its job. A CRIMINAL is NOT going to buy a Dell, and give them his name, address, telephone # and Credit info so that there is a nice long paper trail leading to his front door when he starts doing crazy sh!t with it. If a criminal needs/wants a PC for his life of crime, he'll get one from far shadier suppliers.

Er, uh, silly: The purpose of registering your vehicle is so that security can compile a valid list of vehicles that should be in the parking lot. So if they notice a vehicle parked in the fire lane they have an opportunity to track down the owner before calling in the bomb squad.

So if they did not sell to him because he might do something illegal why do they sell to families for their 14 year old son who is probably going to go on Morpheus and download music? That is piracy and it is illegal.

You would think that, but in the memo they sent us, they stated that the policy was to be able to remove unknown vehicles from the garage. Also, there is no fire zone in the garage. It's fairly small and has restricted access (you need a remote control to open the gate) so it's already hard for unauthorized vehicles to get in.

Wish I could find the memo...it definitely said they somehow thought it would discourage would-be terrorists.
