does costco take visa?

i know that sams always used to only take discover and cash. thinking bout getting a costco membership, do they take visa?

apparently they dont, do they take personal checks / debit cards?

Ditto. Take all the revenue Cosco has, and multiply it by ~3%. Would you give that profit up if you were Cosco?

plus they have some sweet stuff set up with american express. If you're an amex member at costco all sorts of crap you can get setup for you i believe. American Express' financial group ameriprise (Which recently split from them or something) even offers financial services at discounted rates to costco members.

Basically you dance with the one that brought you i guess

btw you can't use visa.
but i believe you can buy 'bulk' 10lb incriments of meat there.

Its in the 2-4% range + a per transaction fee. That is the way CC companies make all their money. The interest they charge actually only barely pays for the cost for the CC company to cover the loans.

Credit card companies have the same business model as Paypal. They never make a cent off me or a ton of other people paying interest or late fees however they do make money off my transactions.

US Costco stores only take Amex or checks. However, Mexican Costco stores (Tijuana, Ensenada) do not take American express and will take Visa or Discover.
