I came to my TV to watch Prison Break and Heroes only to notice that not only was it not recording but all my series recording settings and past recordings were lost. Is this a typical behavior?

Is it attached to a UPS or just a surge suppressor?

that should not matter...

I unplugged mine and moved it from the master bedroom to the living room and it retained all of the recording schedules...which is good because I would have never remembered to check until it was too late...

I called and (as usual) got no reason why it happened. I had her note it in the file in case it happens again and she gave me a week's worth of credit for the programs I had recorded and now lost.

It even kept all of the programs that I previously recorded...

it was unplugged for at least 20 minutes if that matters...

Yeah, there was a firmware update little bit ago. Some of the DVR's needed initializing after.
