Does cologne "go off"?

I received a Givenche Irresistible package for christmas containing an aftershave and a spray on Eau De Toilette (cologne) which is a really, really nice fragrance. Anyhow, obviously I've only had it for about 3 months and the cologne smells terrible now. I first noticed it a couple of weeks ago (I only use it on special occassions). I can't even wear it now, it smells absolutely nothing like it did when I first received it. Is it normal for a cologne to go bad so quickly? All of my previous frgrances have lasted many months. This is very frustrating as it was a gift so I don't have a receipt and I can't afford to buy myself another bottle but it is the best cologne I've ever owned.

Anyone else have experience with Givenchy going bad? I'm tempted to get some money together and buy another bottle but won't if this is a common occurance.

Sounds like an appropriate opportunity to contact the company and ask for a replacement. Cologne should not go "off" in three months.

it does not go 'off' as in spoil like milk. but one of two things happen. either the smell gets faint or it changes from the original.

after three months, i would email the company.

It is Givenchy Very Irresistible, the bottle is green. I will contact the company who distributes the product in NZ and try to find out which retailer it was purchased from also.

I agree...that was my idea. Contact the company!
