Does GPA average from college/university really 'count' in terms of the job market? Specifically for you bosses out there, how often do you ask/look for that type of information? Just curious... (or unfortunately averaging my way through college)..

edited: I meant, in ANY career/major, but it seems as if most people around can give me more insight as to the IT / Computer Science related career. In reference to entry-level/some-experience college grads.

In what job market? I'm a technical recruiter and if you've got the experience we don't even look at what school you're from. It might matter if you're completely entry-level, no experience though. Internships will give you a real boost up.

In my experience - no. Experience is far more weighed than grades.

Most large companies look closely at GPAs for people just out of college. It is also important in professional jobs. It becomes much less important after you are in the workforce.
