does COD:W@W on PS3 support mouse and KB controls?

No, unless you want to try this.

that looks promising...

I just wish i could get a straight answer, UT3 blatantly says it allows KB/M controls

I used to suck too, but I got used to console controls. Something about using a controller makes it so you get less stress.

i don't understand why the ps3 allows people to play online with a keyboard/mouse...

I find gamepads frustrating when it comes to shooters. I wish more games would follow ut3s lead and offer support even if it split the users up so gamepad players aren't against mouse users.

i dunno about splitting them up, i mean is an experienced controller user really ALWAYS going to be "worse" than their mouse wielding equivalent?

The gamepad is worse for accuracy - that does not mean it's necessarily less fun to play with. An important distinction.

I'd say about 99% of the time, unless theyre a total mouse+KB newb. Console only gamers tend to be a bit delusional about the dual sticks, they really dont stand a chance against anyone who knows how to use a mouse + KB.

That being said, just get used to the dual sticks...it's just as fun to play with them when youre used to it.

I get the same experience actually, its weird isn't it.

I can get really competitive and worked up playing on the PC, but when I sit down on a console and play something like COD4/W@W it just kinda all flows away, and I'm totally relaxed even if I'm running 2 and 25 K:D :)

how long does it take? I've been trying to get used to it, probably 6 or so hours played solo and 6 or so played multiplayer and STILL feel like throwing the controller across the room when i can't get zeroed in on even a stationary person i'm trying to kill

Its not so much a matter of getting good with the sticks as it is to learn to live with it's limitations. Youll never be able to do with the sticks what you can do with a KB+Mouse. But everyone else is under the same limitation, so its a far more level playing field than any PC game.

It has taken me a ton of time to get used to the controller in FPSes, but I think I have got it down now. I'm pretty consistently getting a K/D ratio of more than one, whereas when I started I was closed to .25

Lern 2 gamepad, noob! ;)

But seriously, stop getting so frustrated. Your biggest problem is that the dualshock sucks. Xbox360 'stick placement is much better. One of the problems I was having early on when I started playing W@W online is I was shoving the sticks as hard as possible. Relax your right thumb (assuming you have right stick as look control) and try using smoother, gentler movements. Also, play around with the sensitivity. For me, having it cranked to the max is best, but it may be different for you. Try it all the way down, all the way up and everything in between.

It took me about a month of online play to get to where I'm no longer the bottom of the rankings in matches and my K/D ratio is rarely in the negatives on a per-match basis.

yeah i initially had the settings all they way to max and was whippin' the stick as far and as fast as i could. Now i have it set at 5 i think (in COD:W@W) and am actually using the stick properly and i'm getting the hang of it. Still pisses me off though :)
