I just purchased a 2 x 512 MB Corsair Value Select PC3200 memory kit from ChiefValue.com.
Unfortunately, one of the sticks appears defective (over 200 errors, most at the same address, during one pass of MemTest86. Ran each stick alone and one was error free over night, the other developed errors almost immediately).
I need to RMA the memory to ChiefValue, but am worried about the possibility of getting another kit of defective ram and would like to hold onto the initial set until I have received and evaluated the replacment kit. If this too is defective, I would like to minimize my shipping cost by shipping everything back together.
Does ChiefValue ship RMA replacements before they have received the defective part?
