I seem to like changing my carrier every 1-2 years for whatever reason and everytime you get a new carrier they always do a credit check....

Is this effecting my credit score?

Why would it unless you didn't pay one company when switching.

He's thinking of the inquiries, but their effect is really minimal unless you go overboard & start applying for multiple credit cards every month.

if you renew your contract with the same provider, they are probably still going to run an additional check on you before locking into another 1 or 2 years.

That seems ridiculous, especially if you've been paying on time and stuff for those 1 or 2 years.
