Does buying an E7300 = getting E0 stepping?

I need to buy an Intel chip for my new system, but wanted an E0 chip- seen some good results online. Supposedly, since the E7300 and E8600 are new, they are only E0. Thoughts?
 
I don't know about that. The E7300 has been for sale for like a week and I think if they were all E0 stepping we would have seen several posts from people who bought them.

 
There's no guarentee. You could buy from a place that has a lot of old cpus to clear out before the e0s go out, even if the E0s are coming in. Other retailers will cycle the E0 chips in sooner, probably. It's a shot in the dark unless you find a vendor that is willing to look at the box and read the stepping back to you over the phone. Some will actually do this (smaller ones). Companies with huge automated inventory systems like Newegg might not be able to respond to such a specific request.

Your other option is buying retail. The chips are visible through a plastic window in the boxes and you can see for yourself -- usually.
 
Different amount of cache. So I doubt it is called E0.

E0 basic building block is E8xxx E0. Two of them make a Q9x5x E0.
Old E7xxx are M0. I don't know why Q9300 is M1... but Q9400 is R0, so I'd expect "E0" E7xxx to be R0.

Processorfinder finds me M0 E7300, so it doesn't look like a new offering. I'd answer "no" for E7300.
Processorfinder finds me only E0 E8600, so it seems to be a new one. I'd answer "yes" for E8600.
 
get 8600 that's e0 only. although e7300s are new so why not e0, but from what i've read, that chip isn't e0. no clue why intel will use old stepping on new chips like 7300s. odd.
