:Does brand name make a difference for Nvidia 6600GT-AGP cards?

The time has come for a new video card and I have determined that the Nvidia 6600GT-AGP card is the one I want. No other card in the $225 price range can compare with it's preformance. My question is does the brand name of the card make much of a difference?

The brands I have found so far for this card are: Albatron, Apollo, Chaintech, EVGA, MSI, and XFX.

I am leading towards the Chaintech card as my current card(5700) is a Chaintech and it has run just fine for a long time. The other 2 cards I am also thinking about are the XFX and MSI. Is there much of a difference between any of these brands?

The major difference is the cooling system and ventilators.

If you don't want your computer to be loud then you have to watch that.

Pretty sad guys, I had to find out on my own that th e XFX has it's memory clocked to 1000 where the other chars only have it at 900. 76 views and not a single person was good enough to pick up on that. And I thought good techs watched these boards...🙁

Not sure I see factory overclocking as an advantage.

Why not? I was thinking about that Chaintech card, but it's at 900 and the XFX and eVGA are at 1000. Wouldn't the higher memory rate equate into more preformance? Or would it be very minimal? Also, can anyone explain how the automatic OC'ing feature of the new Nvidia drivers works? If both cards can get to the same OC level, then I agree that there would be no difference.

Do your own research lazy ass.

I'd buy any brand... always have been that way.

it's just a PCB color/name/heatsink design... other than that, they are usually all similar. (except special circumstances regarding RAM, etc)

First of all, bite me.

Second, how do you think I found the difference in the 1st place?

Third is no matter how much research I do, someone else will always have some info I don't have, so I ask for it.
