Does bold text mean anything?

I was wondering if bold text means anything here at AnandTech (like capital letters mean shouting), or if it just something the mods like to use.

When Moderators use bold text, we do so because it helps the reader to distinguish our added comments from the original post.

When non-Mods use bold text for more than a word or two, it generally means that they think beefing up the thickness of their fonts is an adequate substitute for amusing or useful content in their posts. 😉

the bold text when used by the mods separates their text from the user's text more easily... (mostly used when a mod edits someone's post...)
