I got rid of my PS2 a while back in favor of an xbox, and now an xbox 360. But now that final fantasy XII is out, I am really wanting to play it, especially with the good reviews its getting. I know at least back about 5 years ago or so blockbuster rented consoles for like 20 bucks a week or something like that, do they still do that?

I take it you sold all your phones and the phone book with the PS2? I hate deal breakers like that and the buyer has to buy everything I own just so I can make a buck.

Nope, they don't. I was feeling kind this morning and decided to make the phone call for you :p

Edit: I called two in my area and they said they don't - apparently others may still carry them.

How much does EBGames/Gamestop give you to trade in a PS2? They sell them used for $99-109. If you lose $30 trading it in, that's probably a better deal than you'll get by renting it. (Figuring it'll take you a while to beat it)

You'll need a memory card too though.

ps2 is only like $130 (silver or black with ethernet built in) + ff12. not too bad...im sure you can find them both on ebay.

Thanks, I guess I will check it out when i get home.

mugs, I am pretty sure they don't give you a very high trade in at the game stores, I am guessing you would lose more then 30 bucks on the deal, but your right that still may be a better deal.

I sold mine to my brother in law, I may see if he is willing to rent it back to me for a while in exchange for me letting him use my 360.

Is the price of the PS2 expected to drop soon with the impending launch of the PS3?

I played the FF 12 demo at Gamestop for like 3 minutes. The graphics were impressive, but not a game I'd sit down and play.

Not sure if it's just me, probably is me, but I'm realizing that the really really good games are only a pick from month to month, most of the other titles are just no brainers, personally.

I am also intereste din God of war, I hear it is great, but it came out a couple weeks after I sold mine. The wife will probablly kill me if I buy another PS2. But I have been meaning to sell my PSP, maybe i can use it to cover the cost.
