Does Blizzard replace lost CDs for WoW?

A few weeks ago I encountered some problems with my computer and had to reformat. Unfortunately after I did so I realized that I had lost my WoW cds.

I know Blizzard replaces cds and keys as long as you send in $10 and remnants of your game (manual, cd case, etc)... but do they replace everything? I really hope I don't have to dish out another $50.

um... you can't play on the same cd key at a time can you? or did we even have to enter it in when we installed the game? i forget now

if it's like starcaft warcraft and all the previous games you put in the cd key when you install it. don't lose that key tho because blizzard will, under NO circumstances, give you a new one.... welll okay they'll give you a new one if you BUY the game again, but that's it.

The key is on the CD case. If two keys are used at the same time you and your friend will easily be pegged by Blizz and you are banned. Not to mention the key becomes kaput.

nm, i got it resolved. and for anybody's future reference, know that the installation of the game does not require a CD key. The way blizzard verifies that you bought the game is by requiring a CD key for character creation.

since i already created a character with my old cd key when i purchased the game, all i needed was to reinstall the game with a friend's CD. No cd key needed, all I needed was to log in with my character. 🙂

It's not even character creation. It's account creation. The CD-Key is tied to the account you created to login to the game, so when it's made, the Cd-key is used and the account is always there. You can install the game with anyone's WoW CD's... you can basically login to your account and character from any computer with WoW installed.
