I don't think they dry out. Don't think it will happen at all though. Why?? I don't know how to explain but they won't dry out like normal goo that will turn hard. :D

Never had to reapply it...Just check on it every so often...you can tell if it needs replacing...

For me checking on it is sort of a chore. I modded my WBK-38 so that it will fit a bohemeth 92mm fan (instead of the stock 60) so its a little hard for me to get down in there :)

I don't think it dries out. It might appears dried out, becausae the pressure its subjected to compress the particle closer together and can make it become kind of like a particle board.

Personally I think its a must to clean and reapply whenever the heatsink is removed.

Ahhh...even better advice :) Yeah, I guess it's cheap enough to replace whenever it looks crusty

ya AS2 supposedly needs to be reapplied every 3 months bcz it dries up. just use rubbing alcohol to remove wats already on teh heatsink and reapply. arctic alumina supposedly doesnt dry up and can last much longer between re-applications..

Its better to leave it on than remove for inspection. Remember, once removed, it must be cleaned and reapplied for optimal performance.

I applied mine once, never had to reapply for just about 8 months now.

I haven?t checked the ASII I applied on my CPU about 6 months ago. I don?t want to risk chipping the core just so I can check on the condition of the thermal paste. If the temps ever go drastically higher, I?ll consider removing the HSF then, but I certainly wouldn't recommend removing the heatsink and fan every three months.
