Does anyone use an Invision Power Board and know how to administer it?

okay then........

does anyone know how to modify/customize the profile so that users can enter additional requested information (e.g., occupation, spouse name, number of ways to skin a cat).

thank you.

In the Admin Control Panel click on Users and Groups. Then click on Custom Profile Fields.

I had tried that but for some reason it doesn't show up in the users profile. The IPB Administration CP Users and Groups>>Custom Profile Fields says:

"When you have enabled this feature (via System Settings -> CPU Saving) you can use the custom fields in your Topic View skin.
Simply add $author[field_1] (or whatever the corresponding 'Topicview var.' is) in 'Post Entry' where you would like it to be shown"

The field that I have created show up in the Control Panel but they don't appear in the User's Profile in the forum nor do they appear in the registration process (I have enabled that they are required for registration).

any idea what I am doing wrong?
