Does anyone use AA?

Not unless I have to.

In some games that dont allow high resolutions(The Freespace games mostly) I use FSAA since it feels like a waste running those old games at low res with a GF3.

But in games where I can run at any resolution, I dont see any point in FSAA.

i run all of my games at 1024x768x32 with quincunx FSAA, 32 or 64 tap anisotropic, and everything turned to max. even RTCW multiplayer with a ton of action on the screen (including multiple airstrikes and a ton of guys) runs great at these settings. i never get slowdowns in games, and i'm extremely happy with the results. however, a friend of mine just got medal of honor, and he can't run 2x FSAA with anisotropic at decent frames with his radeon 8500 and athlon 1.33, where i can run the game great with quincunx and 32 tap aniso. maybe the supersampling that the 8500 uses takes too big of a hit compared to nVidia's multisampling *shrug*. the whole point of getting a fast card, imo, is to run the features, so use 'em if you've got em.

Now that I have my ti4600 I ALWAYS use some form of AA. 2x is just about "free" in all games, so it's stupid not to run it. However, I have been using 4xS (usually with some anisotropic filtering) in all the games I have and they all run quite well. I run all my games @ 1280x1024 as well, and there is no slowdown with AA & anisotropic filtering. AA makes ALL games look so much better (even FPSs and such), I really like using it with ghost recon & IL2 the best as 4xS makes it look so great.

And no matter how high you run your resolutions, if you can get away with using FSAA you should... you wont' be able to go back 🙂

Anti-aliasing rocks! Especially for IL2-Sturmovik (WW2 combat flight sim). Just gorgeous to look at the replays and exterior views. You shouldn't get any fps hits if you're using a Geforce 3 or better with Quicinox AA (faster than 4X, better AA than 2X).
