Just getting a poll to see the results. Basically, off-road pipes are midpipes with no catalytic converter. I know mostly every car out there run catalytic converter, but than i know a bunch don't. :D

:D I know its really loud. Even Hi-Flow cats suck to me... they still muffle the sound pretty bad. May i ask what kind of car you have?

My next purchase will be an equal-lenght header. That should tone it down bit. The nice thing about the boxer engine is the fact that even when the exhaust is really loud it still sounds good, because it's such a deep burble :)

My street, a one way street, is the main westwardly route in from the next town over. I'm going to start hiding behind cars and shooting at the harley riders who think its funny to blabble down my street at 9am on a Saturday.

Cool, ;] Same thing for the mustang v8's also... well if you have a nice catback. Most of the ALMOST straight thru mustang muffler designs (Borla, Bassani, SLP etc)sound good. Some sound awful without catalytic converters most of the time(SLP). I however run a chambered muffler on my car (DRONE).. similar to flowmasters, but way deeper/meaner/angry with a little less tiny/metalic sound.

Harley's are way louder than mostly any car without catalytic converter, but they get away with it! :|

Yeah it's hard to make a Mustang V8 sound bad. The V6, however, is a different story. There's a few running around here and I swear an open headered Civic would sound better.

I would never do that. That is irresponsible and obnoxious and rude to my neighbors.
Ok I could say that with a straight face. Actually, My old T/A and my 89 Chevy truck both had long tube headers that went to straight pipes that dumped under the rear axle.

So true! I hate the sound of a v6 with passion. Some people say you can make them sound good, but they will always sound ******. I find it funny ford made the 99+ GT/Cbora's stock form quiet as v6s. My buddy has a 2003 Mustang Cobra and before the catback change his car was quiet as the stock v6 you see daily.

ROFL, straight pipes with dumps are worse than any with tail pipes. Plus, the fumes probably were bad :(

Sadly, i will start to work graveyard shift and my neighbors will begin to hate my car.

The GTO has an H-pipe in place of resonators connected to straight pipes with the stock tips welded on.

I had a hole due to a bad weld in front of my catalytic converter on my Dakota.
Does that count?

It was just loud until I drove it 9 hours straight one day and lost some hearing from it.
