Does anyone remember these old Commodore 64/128 games? (early 80's)

Don't quite remember those games but off the top of my head I had:

Side Arms
Karate Champ
Spy Hunter
Bad Dudes
Congo Bongo

Below the Root!
Legacy of the Ancients
Beach Head 1 + 2
Congo Bongo
High Noon
Pitfall
Ghostbusters
Hot Wheels
... so many more, can't recall them all.

There was this "racing" like game I used to play at my friends house all the time, we were too poor to own a 64, and you could build your own track, had a choice of truck, cars, I think bikes too, and you could change the gravity in the game too to be like other planets. I dont remember the name but it was always that, test drive, and California Games I was always playing at his house.

"Racing Destruction Set"

I can still hear the main menu music in my head...

So many great games back then...

Treasure Island is the only one I remember from your list, was that the one you go around finding treasure and throwing swords at pirates?

"Another visitor! Stay a while... staaay FOREVER!"

Aah, I loved that game though it frustrated me profusely. They made a very nice port of it on the DS not so long ago, you should check it out.

Sweet, you named a lot of my personal favorites. Others I enjoyed:

Load Runner
Aliens
Boulder Dash
Ducks Ahoy!
Burger Time
Golden Axe
4th & Inches
Silent Service
Pogo Joe
Blades of Steel
Gauntlet
Mad Max
Time Pilot
Zaxxon (oooh this one was frustrating!)

The thing is I was so young when I played these and they were all pretty hard for me so I hardly beat any of them. But at the time just being able to play was exciting enough. Ah to be young like that again...

Castle Wolfenstein (the first talking game I could remember):

"Halt! Commen sie. Aus pass...aus pass....schwienhundt!

Schutzstaffel! Ach! Mein laben!"

Paradroid
M.U.L.E. (although it took so long to load, we'd put it in and start it, go downstairs for dinner, and it'd be ready by the time we were done)

YES!!

Below the Root, and AIW were my favorites on C64.. I was pretty young, so Im sure i never finished them.

i liked:

Satan's Hollow
Skate or Die
all of the Epyx "Games" series
TIMES OF LORE omg!!

ah, i really miss those days. i ran a BBS too, wow. such great times.

edit: omg Ned, Archon rocked!!!!!!!!!! 😎

Games I used to play:

Red Storm Rising (wish they had a modern version of this)
Raid On Bungling Bay (most played game)
Pirates!
Hot Wheels
Spy vs. Spy
Space Taxi
Beach Head

Many more I don't remember

Those are all great memories Dain!

ooh, i remember another game where you could build race tracks and then race them in different types of vehicles.

so many of the games were so quirky and fun.
