Does anyone play Progress Quest?

Does anyone have a definitive answer on whether the speed of the comp affects the game? I've moved up in overall rankings, but dropped from 16 to 22 in the Anandtech Guild. :Q

Running on a T-Bird 1Ghz.
 
I don't believe so ray. My systems at home range from a ppro 200 to a p4 2.26 ghz, and they all appear to be progressing at the same rate. Like the others said, it looks like you level up a little faster with more str, but even that's not a dramatic difference. My p3 1ghz laptop that I installed about an hour before my queue (p4 1.9 ghz) is still in front and doesn't show signs of dropping back.

Has anyone been getting This Error?

I get it every once in awhile when my IE (6.0) browser is open. I'm running Win2KPro. 😕

I think I may need to download the program again.

Nope, Im using Win2kPro.
 
I haven't seen that error RaySun2Be, but I've noticed that when restarting or shutting down (2k or XP) pq.exe refuses to shut down on its own and must be killed manually, kind of like outlook.

Just curious,
if we don't do anything except let the program run, how can some people end up on a cheaters list ? Who decides if you're good, neutral or evil ?? Does the program decide this for you ???
 
I have two instances running right now. One on each guilded server. 😀 If you are going to create a new character you might want to try out the macro that can be found here.

It rolls for you until you reach a set goal ie over 90 total for attributes.

 
I still get the error after downloading the program from a different server. It's most noticable when I click on the down arrow of the address bar to get url history. It's also errored when I've gone into Outlook.

Anyone figured out how to start the game and autoload the current player/game? I'd like to be able to have it startup automatically because a number of people use this PC, but if it requires manual input, then I may have to just run it when I'm logged on. Which means I'll be moving backwards in the stats. I was at 808, but had to log off so the wife could use the PC, and about an hour later, I was down to 856.

I have been practicing in single player for a few days. I thnk I am ready to join up with you guys. It is done ! I think? Take it easy on me I am not very good at computer games. I am known as Boozer in the realm Oobag.

You don't have to be good at this , there's practically no interaction involved apart from letting it run all the time 😀
 
Speaking of running all the time, I moved the game from my main PC, becuase too many people use it, and I could not get it to load the game automatically.

However, I lost a day's worth of gaming because I couldn't check on it at the new PC, and it was sitting there all day waiting for me to respond to a ZoneAlarm message. 😱

I just checked and I went from 16 on the team down to 31. 🙁 *sigh*, I can't even do well at automated games. :Q 😱

I'm not sure if the ranking system is really accurate. I'm not sure how they work it. Depending on your level, you may be below a bunch of people with lower levels for some reason. PQ isn't a game to get hung up about on stats, as there's not a lot you can do about it. 🙂
 
I almost gave myself carpal tunnel playing Diablo 2, this is much easier . After I discovered the cheat tricks in D2 I soon quit playing. Sound familiar?
 
OK another bump for a stat update for the TeAm's newest "project"

We are currently ranked 167th. We are rising quickly but it won't be long before we top out. We need more participation here!!!!!
 
Looks like there were to many guilds so they are now broken up in to classes.

Factions, Clans,Bands,Trivialities. Looks like we are a clan now and in 44th place!

Keep up the hard work 😀
 
We've now passed Knights who say Ni and Erisian Liberation Front. We're just 175 points away from passing octothorp
