This may have been done before but I'm sure we are among the worst off as consumers in the world here in the UK. Heard recently on the radio they stopped supermarkets from stocking cut price designer gear (fine in the US) That's the kinda shiznit we have to put up with this side of the pond.
Prices:
DVD - £20 standard, £25ish special ed double discs etc.
CD - £4 single, £14 aprox for an album
Magazines - most are between £3 & £5
Video/DVD rental - between £3 & £4
Win XP Home up - £80-90 (no oem or student available (student in jan apparently))
Athlon 1400 - £120
£1 == $1.41
It's great when you have the same product which has prices £99 and $99, hmmm thats the lousiest exchange rate I've ever seen!
Add to my list of gripes, consoles & games released months later, no xbox till march. Same with DVD's, cinema & music.
</rant over>
Cheers
