Does anyone like bagpipes?

I got a song I want to send you to see what you think.
Just PM me at the AIM in my profile and I will send it to you.

Bagpipes are beautiful, especially in combination with drinking songs. My fiancee's dad plays them quite often, so when we visit, I hear all his new drinking songs.

They are alright for certain ceremonies but not all the time. I have been put off them from negative experiences though.

A lot of people claim they are "Scottish" live where I grew up. Funny thing is most of them were born in Canada and are third or fourth generation. Its highly annoying how they feel they need to "identify" with Scottish roots. They have all sorts of stupid Scottish festivals in the summer and belt that crap out like they are so proud. Proud of what? You've never been to Scotland! I swear, they see Braveheart a few dozen times, drink some single malts they overpaid for, buy a kilt and dress up and go talk about their family "clan". Its hilarious entertainment if you ever wanted to see a gigantic bunch of LOSERS.

I was born in Inverness and I couldn't give two sh!ts about Scotland or the bagpipes. I was raised in Canada and consider myself a Canadian. Screw bagpipes and imaginary identities! (As you can see I've been put off by them. Anytime I see them I think about people with fake identities of themselves.)

I love good Celtic music, including music with various kinds of pipes. More the mournful and depressing kind (Clannad, Altan, Tannahill Weavers, Joemy Wilson) than the happy drinking kind though.
