Does anyone know of good imaging software?

An employee's laptop computer hd is slowly dying. I already have a replacement hard drive, but i don't want to setup everything over again. Is there a way to make an image of his current hard drive, software, and configuration... and then load it onto the new hard drive?

Please let me know of any suggestions you have.

Thanks

I've never used Drive Image. I doubt there will be a newer version, as PowerQuest was bought by Symantec. Ghost will probably be the imaging software they choose to stick with. I could be wrong. In any event, I tried Ghost first, found it to be easy, fast and reliable. I have had no need to try anything else.

Drive Image 7 was pretty bloated compared with version 6 so there won't be a big loss not getting version 8.

I just bought Symmantec Ghost 2003. It was $30 after rebate at Fry's. So, i'll give it a try and let you know. Thanks for the help!

Ghost 2003 is kinda complicated for the noob, Acronis would have been a lot easier, plus it runs under windows, no need to reboot into DOS.

it's amazing that Ghost 2003 works only from a single 0.97 MB EXE. but they insist you install a huge pile of crap to load GUI in windows and such.
