Does anyone know of an ETA when computer components will be back?

I want a new PSU and a WD Red CMR drive. A friend is trying to build a new system and it is either out of stock or you have to buy it from a seller that is charging almost twice if not twice as much. Does anyone know about when everyone will start to get components back in?

Yeah, I noticed that Newegg's prices on PSU's are totally jacked up right now. Amazon's prices aren't as bad, but I'd rather support a smaller vendor if possible.

Could be a while I think. The joy of having all our eggs in one basket. While some factories are actually producing again in China, they have a hard time moving product as most boats are being filled with PPE and other essentials. There's just a huge backlog in general in the supply chain and on top of it there is higher demand as more people stay home.

Thanks for the explanation. First, I had no idea this was happening. Then, I had no idea WHY it would be happening.

Yeah pretty crazy. This video explais the situation more:

Checked Canada Computers and Memory Express (basically our last two remaining computer part retailers here) and they do seem to have stock though, at least for PSUs, did not check all components.

I wonder if some companies are trying to rush things out and making tiny mistakes leading to fewer quality products. In some components like PSU that could cause big problems for your computer. Thank you Red Squirrel for the information very informative.

I've purchased 2 PSU's from Microcenter the past month or so. I didn't know there was a shortage with anything right now.
