Does anyone know of a place I can get unlocked socket-a cpu's at?

I'm to afraid to do the pencil trick myself, so if place have them predone, at a good price, I would be really intrested.

It's not that hard. It only took me about 3 times to do it. If you don't want to do the pencil trick, just use some the locite defogger kit. I wouldn't even bother with getting an unlocked one.

it's really not that hard at all...any 3+ year old could do it (remember connect the dots?)

You assume, of course, that 51 year old eyes can see the dots (without help). Just bought a magnifying setup just so I don't get L1 and L7 crossed up.
