Does anyone know if the iPod Shuffle uses the battery while using as thumb drive?

Like if you are going to use if for an hour in class when typing and saving notes, does it use the battery? I just want to know so like even if the battery goes one day, will I be able to pretty muchly use the 1 gig memory part forever.

Don't think it does. Not sure about the Shuffle specifically but thumb drives generally run off computer power when plugged into the USB port.

Yeah. I was thinking that it doesnt because most run off of the computer for power, but the shuffle is a little different. Oh well. I love it. Even without a screen, its awesome. You really dont need one. I mean for the small amount of songs, its not like you need to go through and pick them like I would on my 40 gig ipod.
