Does anyone know how to...

change the internal IP address range on a linksys befsr41 router?
I've been having trouble connecting to my work because they use the 192.168.1... IP range internally. The IT guy (surly bastard that he is) gave me an alternate internal IP range that I can allegedly use (can't remember off the top of my head right now) but when I hit the router config, the internal IP range is fixed at 192.168.1.*** - the numbers are not in an editable field, only the last group of numbers can be changed. So does anyone have any experience with tweaking this thang?
thanks,

you really can't change it? what firmware version are you using?

I have the same router running v1.36 and I don't have a problem with changing the address.

Check your subnet mask or your network ID and see if changing it will enable you to change the third octet (xxx) of the IP address 192.168.xxx.yyy

--LANMAN

I want to change the range to 213.148.*.*- Its the first set of numbers in the octet that I want to change.

My work's DHCP server is already using the 192.168 range. Since they are I need to change my range to something other that the standard internal IP range (192.168- - )

i've change my internal router IP on the linksys to 192.168.123.1 so I can connect it to my SMC barricade which uses 192.168.123.254

i think you can also change it to 10.0.0.x but I haven't tried it.
