Does anyone know how to take this apart?

Its a Sony Cybershot DSC P5 camera. I'm trying to somehow get to where the lens protector closes and opens. It closes when i turn the unit off, but it will not open once I turn it on....I have to open it manually. Anyone know how I can take the lens out?....I tried taking it apart but couldn't find a way to get to the lens. Here's a pic of what i'm talking about:

balpeen hammer is easier.

Problem is it isn't under warranty and I dont want them to charge me for fixing it. So does ANYONE know how to take it apart?
