does anyone know how to split a vcd into two parts?

is this possible? im trying to convert my mini dv film into two parts. i encoded it into one huge file. any help is appreciated.

Is it currently in .avi or already encoded to VCD(mpeg)?

This: www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html can split a VCD into two parts.
Any video editing tool can split an .avi into two parts.
