Does anyone know how many times the iPod's battery will recharge?

Thinking of buying a used iPod but wondering if it is worth getting used. About how many times can the battery on the iPod be recharged? Thanks.

Well I've read that after about a years worth of usage the battery can last up to 4hrs at worst 🙁 and 6hrs roughly at best. But again it depends on how much you use it and recharge it.

Also if you don't use the iPod for a few days the battery will go flat. You suppose to charge it everytime you sync also. It will do this for you if you have a 6pin firewire port. Most pc laptops don't so you won't be charging it.

It fixes some problems, but the fundemental battery does have a certain cycle life. The ~300 charges quoted below sounds about right... I love my iPod but this is my one complaint, I'd happily buy a $50 battery for it when it dies *if I could*.

Anyone want to start an iPod battery replacement business 😉

I'll start with you.

Yeah there have been a few places on the net that have tried to track down the actual battery or another battery that will fit in to the iPod but with no luck 🙁
 
I've heard that the battery lasts 1000 charges from a few people. 1000 charges = roughly 2-3 years, and i think in 3 years the upgrade bug will have hit me.
