Does anyone know any proven ways to increase one's vertical leap?

Pretty much the same as anything else... If you want to do something better, then do it more often.

If you want to jump higher, then jump to build up those particular muscles. Add weight, if jumping alone isn't a good enough workout.

Oh, and drop some weight if you need to.
I'm 6'2 and 145 pounds. I need to gain weight if anything. As for the jumping, I think that im going to try ankle weights and jumproping.
 to ankle weights. They're mainly used for aerobic activity to burn calories..they're not intended to improve hops.

Jumproping though is good
How could adding weight while working the muscles associated with jumping NOT help? (Unless you are saying that ankle weights aren't heavy enough.)

Thats what i thought i heard like if you use 3 pound ankle weights will jump roping it would help. I mean naturally if afterwards you are still trying to jump, minus the ankle weights, you will leap higher? Seems logical anyways.

Sting says you should move to the Moon. 🙂

Giant steps are what you take
Walking on the moon
I hope my legs don't break
Walking on the moon
We could walk for ever
Walking on the moon
We could live together
Walking on, walking on the moon

Walking back from your house
Walking on the moon
Walking back from your house
Walking on the moon
Feet they hardly touch the ground
Walking on the moon
My feet don't hardly make no sound
Walking on, walking on the moon

Some may say
I'm wishing my days away, no way
And if it's the price I pay, some say
Tomorrow's another day, you'll stay
I may as well play

I used to have these shoes called strength shoes. They are essentially a basketball shoe with a platform on the front of the shoe. After a few months of training with them I probably gained 6-8" on my vertical. Make sure that if you are going to use them that you gradually go into the training, or you won't be able to walk for weeks.

I hear those work well. But ive also heard that they can mess up your shins or your knees if used incorrectly. Im kinda looking to do this the natural way though, without spending money! 🙂

Just jumping.. a lot.. heh, i dunno.

Back in college when playing volleyball, I could touch 11' 2". Was like a 28" Vertical.

I can touch 11' back in high school and I was only 5'6". I don't even know what kinda vertical leap that was.
