Does anyone in here have a minivan?

My wife is wanting a Nissan Quest or Honda Odyessy. They both seem very nice. She isn't even considering an american made minivan.

well right now i beleive the hundia minivan is the best ranked one to purchase. it has the highest safety rateing out. we were looking to purchase one but got a good deal on a windstar.

I had a 2000 Mazda MPV. First van to have 2nd row windows roll down. Nice except for lack of power though I think they added 60-70hp to it in 2002 or 2003 or 2004.

Honda odyssey is nice but expensive as heck. So is the quest. 35k nicely equipped. 40k decked out. I got my minivan for 21k in 2000.

I think the Odyssey is the best all-around rated van. They are expensive too.

We've got a Grand Caravan because it is more spacious and more affordable.

My wife loves the Nissan Quest though.

We have a 2001 Mazda MPV, V6 2.5L. It's a nice small van, in fact it is actually classified as a wagon so you can keep your man card when you drive it around.

Normally I'm a Nissan Fanboi but you should really check out the Odyssey.

My wife just traded her Envoy XL for a Pontiac Montana. She loves it. It doesn't even really have the minivan look. Comes stock with second row captain chairs (easy access to back row), built in DVD player with IR headphones, lots of power...we couldn't be happier with the purchase.

toyota sienna or honda ody are the possible best minivans on the market today in terms of looks reliability and features...they are also pricey

We puchased a 2003 Grand Caravan Sport (March 03) after driving a 2003 Honda Oddessy. The Oddessy was certainly faster, but the DGC handled much better, and the seats were more comfortable. I don't remember what we paid for it. At the time a used Oddessy was maybe 15% cheaper than a new Oddessy. I don't know about the newer DCG models, but they do need more legroom in the second row seats. I believe Consumer Reports top-rated minivans are the Oddessy and Sienna. Our van has the 3.8L as opposed to the 3.3L (lethargic with a full load)

I have had both an Odyssey and a Grand Caravan. The Odyssey is vastly superior. I wouldn't buy any other minivan.

The Odyssey only seem exepensive compared to others due to the fact that not a lot of options are available and most people are looking at the fully equipped Odyssey with the Leather seats and DVD player. Similarly equipped competitors cost around the same price. Also - Honda salesman can be talked down just like anywhere else. I believe we talked ours down about 3-4G below the sticker price when we bought our 2004.

My wife drives a Toyota Sienna. I'm 6'4" so the switch from the honda civic to the mini-van makes those road trips much more enjoyable. Compared with a SUV you get more for your money and better gas milage.

We personally could care less about the stigma put on minivans.

Well, for a family with 2 kids and a pet or more I personally don't see how people can live without one. The gas mileage and storage capacity is better than an SUV and the kids are always having a friend or two over after school. Stinks to have to take more than one vehicle or tell a kid they can't come over because you have a car full.

Besides, a real man shouldn't care what kind of car he drives :roll:

P.S. When my wife bought the 2004 Odyssey I drove our 98 Windstar for a few years, I recently regained my manhood when I upgraded to a 2005 Silverado

jesus $40k fully equipped? my parents got one ( 2000 ) base LX for $25k, diddnt need any of the power windows/doors/navi/alloy wheels/entertainment crap - been workin fine and plenty of power
