Does anyone here watch Big Love?

SAWYER

Lifer
I just read about this show this morning and I am thinking about checking out the first few episodes, is it pretty good?

Big Love is one of the best HBO series ever.. its like a cross between six feet under and sopranos. You will love the show.

I've only caught episodes here and there, but I find it very entertaining, and I only have a bit of the back story (due to not following the show). I've always wanted to watch more, but I can't bring myself to follow tv anymore (other than downloading dexter because they don't show it here in Canada without buying a $20/month movie package!!!).

Both of those shows sucked balls, I'd rather HBO make one that's a cross between The Wire & Arli$$, the only 2 HBO shows worth watching IMHO.

I watch it. It entertains me enough to keep watching it. I'm not saying its the greatest drama but good enough.

negative. for some reason i think of reality TV when I think of big love, which makes me not want to watch it

I enjoy it quite a bit. Better than a vast majority of network TV, and better than most Showtime shows. But middle of the pack as far as HBO goes.

Nah, I watched the first season and that was enough. The guy has a bunch of wives and the Mormon mafia (or something) is after him. Stress/problems ensue. The end. Not really worth checking out IMO, but you could always check out the first few episodes and see if you like it at all.

It's really bad. Apparently they didn't think things through all the way when they produced the show. Do you think fat people like to be aired on TV for the sole purpose cause their fat? Everybody thought this was going to be interesting because it shows how less shallow Hollywood or relationships could be but it turns out it's just a bunch of miserable people who wish they were not fat.

This show is incredibly uncomfortable to watch. It's already bad enough to have one annoying, needy wife but to have 3 of them is just insane.

I don't argue that it is a well written show and is compelling to those who care about such things, I personally do not.

Pretty accurate. I'm also fond of the 3rd wife. Funny that the one that everyone dismisses is going to be the one with a backbone. But the writers probably won't let this pan out - everything mormon eventually fails.

It's interesting that tom hanks is one of the executive producers - maybe something personal there.

My wife loves the show. Strangely, though, any time I mention the idea of possibly bringing in another woman to share the "chores" she gets all defensive and negative. Go figure...
