Does anyone here use "the clapper?"

Do ya?... Is it really worth using? (no I'm not planning to anytime... just asking)... it's the device where if you clap, the lights turn off. Clap again, its back on.

I wonder if I can turn 1 light off... That isn't mine...

I gave one to an ex. She said that it worked as advertised but after awhile it started to randomly turn the light on and off.
