Does anyone here regret having kids?

I can't afford my own toys. I'm not letting a kid keep me from going on vacations to places and buying myself toys. Just owning a cat was a big enough lifestyle change (you actually have to feed it).

not in the least. the little guy is awesome. i'm sure i'll think otherwise when he gets into the pre teen, teen years but right now (9 months) it's pretty darn neat to see all the stuff he's learning and trying to get into. we think he's damn cute but all parents do.

Never! After 4 hours of commuting and 9 hours at work, nothing brightens up my day then when I come home and my 2.5 year old daughter comes running up to hug me screaming daddy!
Makes it worth it everytime.

Oh you summed it up great for me. The only difference is my girl is 5. :awe:

I'll never have kids of my own and truth be told I pretty much hate them anyway. Things change though, I could always adopt in the future.

Doc told my wife she would never have her own kid and only a donor egg would work. I was fine it was all her. Well we went to New Orleans and 1 drink and 9months later this guy will have his 1 year old Vietnamese party this weekend. My wife says for Vietnamese 1 month and 1 year are really big. I take her word for it. 🙂

But yea I have wanted kids for a while. My wife says this is her first and last one. So have to take extra good care of this one. 😉

I regret not knowing more than I know now before having kids, which would have made for smarter decisions and make raising them easier and more fun for them. But regret having them? No way. When I think about it and how much of a hassle things can be, I can only think about what I'd be missing out on with them not here.

My wife and I had our two kids very young. I love them both unconditionally and completely.

I don't regret having either one of them despite how tough things can be. My wife is only 26 and I'm 30. We have a 7.5 year old boy and a girl that will be 6 in 2 weeks.

They've helped make me a better person and I wouldn't change a thing if I could.

Please...that is a ridiculous statement.

Well while he is not paying for everyone elses, as a tax payer you are paying for some peoples children. IF you are a property owner, you are paying school tax, even if you don't have a child in the school.

I didn't want children, but 2 showed up. It doesn't make me love them any less, but I do wonder what my life would be like without having to deal with kids all the time. Though I can say I envy those of you with "normal" children that will move out at some point. We'll have our older child until we can no longer physically take care of her.

My only regret was having a child 8 months after we got married. I don't ever regret having kids... but the first was an accident. We wanted to do a little traveling before settling in with kids. But in the big scheme of things it did not matter. We both wanted children. I can't imagine life without them now.

What's wrong with her? I've always thought it wouldn't be so bad having a retarded kid. I like small children, and the amazement with which they view the world. Magic is still alive for the very young :^)

I have a cousin with severe cerebral palsy. The doctors didn't expect her to live past 14 or so, and she's now about 45. The bitch is her parents are getting less able to take care of her. They both have serious medical problems themselves, and she's a full time job. I'm not sure what'll happen to her when her parents can no longer care for her. That kind of person needs someone who actually gives a shit, and isn't just doing it for a job :^/

Your life would be fine until you're old. Then it would be sad and lonely.

That's bull. Having children is no guarantee they are going to be there for you. Further more, not having children is no sure fire way to be alone.

I will be having a grand time all the way up until the day I die.
