I've got a Bowflex Ultimate. I'm not too big of a fan of the Extremes. I like having a true flat bench vs. the upright one the Extreme has.
I only paid $900 for Ultimate and wouldn't hesitate to buy it again at that price. I couldn't justify paying retail for it though.
If you are serious about buying one, look around the used exercise equipment stores in your area and buy from there. I bought my Ultimate in "like new" condition that way. Half of the stuff was still in the box. And it was less than half of what it cost new.
I'm very happy with the number of exercises and the quality of workouts it provides. For the room I have to work with, and the ease of operation, I don't think I could do much better.
