No payment on the first S4. Only on the new one. Trade for cash = sold for cash. Then I took that cash to the dealer (aka, wrote one big check) and bought a TSX. Quite simple, really.

Interesting. If there was NO payment on the first S4, then why did you say: "Are you guys done, or do I need to retrieve all the proof-of-ownership paper's from the bank and scan them for you? Would you like to see my bank account status while we're at it?"

Why would the bank have proof-of-ownership papers(lol, like they are called that to begin with) if you didn't have a loan with them? You paid cash, or your parents did, right? So why would the bank have papers about it?

Safety deposit box located in the bank. Pretty simple, once again.

Alright, I've had about enough of this. I believe I've written enough to prove that just about every post in this thread is based off of assumptions and nothing more. I don't care if you believe me or not. I can't prove it, and you can't disprove it. However, I can't argue anymore. I have things to do so that I can do home in a few weeks and actually drive my car. If you want to discuss this further, feel free to PM me. Perhaps this thread can return to the topic of the OP, but somehow I highly doubt that.

I've driven my uncle's A6 4.2, and it was nice - somewhat unexceptional - but nice none-the-less. The quattro is great in the snow (it was winter in toronto when I drove it), and the car had plenty of power. I assume the S4 is lighter, and set up to be significantly more 'sporty' than the A6, which is more luxury/touring in its road manners.

It's also on its third transmission in 60K (kilometers! about 38K miles I guess). But it's about 3 or 4 years old now, so they may have licked that problem, and it's an automatic; I assume you would buy a manual S4.

not sure if you're still looking for input on the S4, but my much more successful brother has one (I have a bicycle) I have driven it on numerous occassions, and would be willing to give you some input if you like....

bottom line is, if I could afford one, I'd get it. some people have had bad luck with audi reliability but he's been lucky...
