I just read that article at ZDNet and I was wondering if anyone bought one and if it had cracks in it. It's too bad, cause it's a cool looking computer. I know that I would be annoyed if I bought one and it had cracks or fissures or whatever in it.

I would prefer a Big Mac to one that runs Photoshop fast. ;) Much better value I think.

I wouldn't buy a Mac. I just wonder why Apple thought they could build a freaking heat machine in a thing of plastic. They should've used like plexiglass or something.

they just use cheap ass plastic...i know cuz i use g4's at school..its just cheap crap...plexiglass is of much higher quality, and therefore if apple used it, then macs would cost even MORE....

A friend of mine owns a G3. It looks cool, but it feels cheap. The inside of it looked pretty nice though, but not as good as my modded Asus T-10. Modding is something that no one is ever going to be doing on their Mac.

edit: One thing that I thought was funny was that my friends mobo in his G3 had a set of jumpers letting him change the clock multiplier. However, it was covered up by some tape. So, he would have violated his warranty. Which would have sucked for them since he foolishly used their financing to pay for his computer.

But Viper-Frag it isn't you everday garden variety seran wrap. It's the HEAVY DUTY seran wrap that's built to last.

D@mn you need financing to pay for one of those things, especially if you get a flat monitor with it.

If you apply for their instant loan, you get ripped pretty good. A loan of 1799 over 60 months is 43.15 a month. You end up paying 2589. Over 24 months, you pay 88 something. You end up spending about 2300 or so. All for a computer with ATI 128 graphics.

LMFAO you guys are so funny you seriously have me laughing my ass off here :D :D :D

But yeah, Macs really are overpriced when you think about it, and the cheap plastic's gotta suck too.

Why would anybody in their right mind buy a Mac? If they wanted to waste money... Buy a nifty looking door stop, etc.. there are plenty of good reasons to get a Mac!! :D

Macs, blurh, the're too bloody espensive.

Mind you I wouldn't mind one of those Genisis Quad PPC Mac clones from a couple of years ago, upgraded with 4 G4 upgrade cards & a double boot BeOS5/Mac OSX Hard Drive - contray to popular belieif BeOS5 will work with G3/G4 CPUs, it just does not support the Apple G3/G4 chipset (apparently no one's made BeOS system drivers for the Apple G3/G4 chipset), however BeOS5 support's the chipsets in those MacClones perfectly.

IBM made a clone mobo for G4s. It's up to mobo manufacturers if they want to make them or not. It'd be nice to build one I think.

Well, one good thing about the cube is that it is practically silent (no cpu fan :Q). There are actually apps that only exists for mac (or has a really crappy pc support, like PAUP (a phylogenetic program)

Bakwetu...

If I want my computer quiet, I'll turn it off... comprende?

Just kidding,

But really, if the only thing good about it is that it is quiet, then perhaps the only people who are buying these things are mimes. :p

Macs suck. Always have. IMHO.
